PURPOSE: A text data editing and playing system are provided as a user oriented foreign language study system that a user can edit text file, to convert it to voice file and play in the portable player. CONSTITUTION: The text editing and playing system consists of a computer(10) with a text-voice converter(20), a portable voice playing device(30), an interface part(31), a memory(32), a decoder(33), a digital-analog converter(34), a control part(35), and output parts(41, 42). The text-voice converter consists of a dictionary and an encoder(25). The text input part consists of a word input part, which is connected to and schedule the input part(11). The text recognition part(23) recognizes text by parsing. The voice converter converts text data to voice. The encoder consists of compressing part and encoding method. The data files are stored in memory. The output part consists of voice playing part(41) and screen display part(42). The decoder analyze the header of data files and header contains bit rate, compression format, compression rate, amount of data and playing time. The portable voice player has a mode selection part that displays embedded scheduler on the screen display part. |
