A thermally sensitive indicia releaseably incorporated into a multi- ply label is defined. The thermally sensitive indicia is incorporated betwee n plies on a removable portion of the label. A pressure sensitive adhesive attached thereto. The thermally sensitive indicia on the removable portion can be the releaseably secured to another container to serve as a temperature sensing element.
