The invention relates to a device for the acoustic playback of an electric audio signal (i), emitted from a tone generator (2). A loudspeaker (1) comprising an excitation coil (11) that is mounted in a fixed manner and an oscillator coil (12) that can be translationally displaced in the magnetic field of the excitation coil are provided in said device. A sound-emitting element (13) is mechanically coupled to said oscillator coil. A signal converter (3 to 5), which is equipped with a signal processor (4) and converts the output signal (i) of the tone generator into a conditioned audio signal (ia), in accordance with the function ia = I<1/2>,< >is connected to the tone generator (2). Said conditioned audio signal is supplied to both loudspeaker coils (11 and 12), the signal being supplied in respective opposing conduction directions.
