A method for the chemical sterilisation of objects, in particular medical objects, packed in a non-sterile condition in a germ-tight, yet gas-permeable non-sterile packaging and subsequently sterilised with a reactive gaseous medium which can diffuse, is disclosed. Said medium is super-heated hydrogen peroxide vapour, which is forced into the packaging under the dewpoint and thus forced to condense. The condensate is then returned to the gaseous phase by evacuation of the packaging and sucked off.
