The invention relates to a method and device for operating a clutch between an internal combustion engine and at least one driven wheel of a vehicle. A torque is transmitted between the internal combustion engine and the driven wheel on pressing the clutch together, by means of a compression force or compression pressure. Said compression force or compression pressure is regulated depending on a clutch slip in the clutch on transferral of torque between the internal combustion engine and the driven wheel and a set clutch slip value.
