SUBSTANCE: complex has matrix-type eddy-current transducer, vehicle rigid wheelset that mounts mentioned complex, and circuit arrangement for processing, memorizing, and displaying transducer output signals which is located in passenger compartment of vehicle and connected to transducer outputs. Matrix-type eddy-current transducer is mounted in position normal to working top of rail head that is engageable with vehicle wheel flange. Newly introduced in complex are manipulator with power unit, control device whose output is connected to input of manipulator power unit, and actuating mechanism assembled of hinged brackets and control rods, respectively. Brackets are used to provide hinged joint between matrix- type eddy-current transducer and vehicle wheelset and control rods ensure hinged joint between transducer and manipulator. EFFECT: enhanced confidence of checkup data on wear of rail head working surface irrespective of degree of wear of opposite idle surface. 1 dwg
