A low voltage lamp comprising a base unit with a power source therein and also illumination module (1) removably attached thereto. When assembled, electrical contacts (6) in the base unit electrically connect with electrical contacts (13) in the underside of the illumination module (1) and conduct current to one or more LEDs (10) housed therein. The body of the illumination module (1) is preferably made of wax or another suitable translucent material and is rotatable relative to the base to break the electrical connection therebetween and extinguish the LEDs (10). The base unit comprises an outer housing (3), and an inner casing (4) which contains the batteries, said inner casing (4) incorporating means (7) to lock the two base parts together. |
