A damped hanger for a suspended ceiling has an upper hanger (1) clipped to the ceiling supports (3) via a spring clip (2) and has a horizontal support (4) at its lower end. An elastic pad (7) is held in the lipped support and is pierced by the lower hanger (8) that also passes through a slot in the support. The upper end of the lower hanger is fitted with a retaining plate secured by bending over the edge of the hanger. The ceiling is supported on the elastic pads via the retaining plates. If the elastic pads are burnt away the weight of the ceiling is still supported on the horizontal supports. |
