PURPOSE: Provided is a pore-closed lightweight ceramic carrier, being as a microorganism immobilized carrier, for tricking air biofilter by foaming method. The ceramic carrier is effective to remove bad smell and volatile mixed gas of organic compounds generated from environmental treatment. CONSTITUTION: The preparation method is as follows: preparing a mixed powder by dry ball-milling 90-95wt.% of glass powder(less than 200mesh), 5-10wt.% of natural zeolite and 1wt.% of Fe2O3 as a coloring agent; adding 2-10wt.% of inorganic foaming agent and water, and ball-milling for a slurry; forming; heating to 400-450deg.C at a rate of 10deg.C/min, holding for 1hr. heating at 500-600deg.C for 30min, and sintering at 780-820deg.C for 40min.; quenching to 300deg.C, holding 30min, and cooling to room temperature. The resultant microorganism immobilized ceramic carrier with closed pores which block permeation of water has much decreased density(0.8156g/ml of true density and 0.562g/m¬3 of apparent density), 13.35m¬2/g of surface area, and 1.06ml/g of porosity.
