A shoot bolt assembly includes a bar 21 attached to a drive assembly (not shown) and a bar 31 attached to a bolt 34, the bars 21, 31 overlapping by an adjustable amount and being held together by a releasable clamp 36. The clamp 36 may have a shaft which passes though the bars and is rotatable by a screwdriver to cam the bars together. Opposed faces of the bars may be formed with interdigitating teeth to help hold the bars together. An indicator 43 on the clamp may indicate whether the clamp is rotated to a clamping or releasing position. A cover 49, 50 may overlie the drive bar 21. The assembly may be located in a groove in peripheral groove in a leaf.
