The invention relates to a method for examining the fundus oculi of a patient in a darkened room, and to an ophthalmoscope for carrying out this method. The aim of the invention is to find a means of continuously recording the image of the fundus oculi in light that is gentle on the eye. To this end, an illuminating beam (4) is projected onto the fundus oculi, the light that is reflected by the fundus oculi in the form of an observation beam (18) is projected as a real intermediate image and the real intermediate image is recorded with an observation device (22). An infrared filter (28) gives preference to the passage of the infrared light part of the illuminating beam (4), at least partially, in a first setting, this part then being projected onto the eye. During a second period for recording an image of the fundus oculi with visible light, the visible light part of the illuminating beam (4) is given preference and projected onto the eye. |
