METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to control effectively a scanning drive IC by applying a plurality of shift clocks and scanning pulses corresponding to the shift clocks. CONSTITUTION: An address pocket including a plurality of data is set up within a period between discharge sustain pulses applied to the first scanning electrodes and the second scanning electrodes. Data of each address pocket are assigned to a plurality of sub-field pockets. Scanning pulses are applied respectively to the first scanning electrodes in order to synchronize the plural data of each address pocket. The scanning pulses are formed on the first bias pulse of a predetermined electric potential applied between the discharge sustain pulse and the discharge sustain pulse. The second bias pulses are applied to second scanning electrodes in a period of the address pocket between the discharge sustain pulse and the discharge sustain pulse.
