FUEL-AIR MIXTURE HEATER FOR AUTOMOBILE ENGINE

SUBSTANCE: proposed fuel-air mixture heater f r automobile engine has electric heating element made of posistor ceramics in form of rectangular plate placed under throttle valve in carburetor mixing chamber on plastic gasket installed between carburetor and engine intake manifold. Positive and negative electric contacts are made on thin sheet metal in form of rectangular plates of length equal to length of posistor element with edge of each plate bent at right angle along longer side and skew-symmetrically laid on different planes of posistor element. Width of each plate of contact is 0.5-1.0 mm less than width of posistor element, and width of bent off part of each contact plate is 0.3-0.5 mm less than thickness of element. Both plate contacts are connected with corresponding (positive and negative) spring contacts located in plastic gasket and connected to automobile electric circuit. EFFECT: simplified design, improved reliability at operation under any conditions. 1 dwg
