PURPOSE: A conveyance system is provided to achieve branching and juncture without any limitations on the layout, thereby realizing effective and flexible conveyance. CONSTITUTION: A pair of rail members(11,12) have upward wheel supporting surfaces(11A,12A) and inward roller guide surfaces(11B,12B), respectively. A fixed path(10) includes linear path portions(51,52) and a branching-and-joining path portion(53). Linear-side guide members(15,16) extending along the linear path portions and a branching-and-joining-side guide(17) member extending along the branching-and-joining path portion are provided in a branching-and-joining section. A moving body(20) is provided with wheels(21) and side guide rollers(24) supported and guided on a wheel supporting surface and a roller guide surface, respectively. A direction restricting member(25) guided by sideward guide sections(15a,15b,16a,16b,18b,19b) of the guide members is driven by a lateral-movement unit(30) to move freely in a lateral direction between a location corresponding to the linear-side guide member and a location corresponding to the branching-and-joining-side guide member.
