PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of residual of a substance to be conveyed in a screw conveyor. SOLUTION: One end or both ends of a screw shaft 251 having a screw blade 252 are rotatably supported in a casing 20 to convey a substance to be disposed of, and the one end side of the screw shaft 251 is rotationally driven by a drive source 22. In so formed screw conveyor, moving means 11 and 12 are provided to move the screw shaft 251 to the inner lower end side of the casing 20. In this case, the screw shaft 251 is connected to a drive shaft 231 through an universal joint 24 and rotatably situated in the casing 20. The screw shaft 251 may be connected to the drive shaft 231 through the universal joint 24. Further, a crushing device or waste disposing facility is sometime provided with the screw conveyor.
