PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a hopper dryer that a raw material is evenly dried. SOLUTION: In the hopper dryer, an inner basket, in which a funnellike vessel is formed into two-step constitution, is fitted to the lower part of the body of a drying vessel and a plastic raw material filling the upper part of the inner basket is dried by blowing hot air from the low part. The inner basket has a funnel shape each other and is divided into a first vessel 111 becoming the upper part and a second vessel 112 becoming the lower part. The first vessel has a first top face of area S1 and a second bottom face of area S2. The second vessel has a third top face of area S3 and a fourth bottom face of area S4. Size of respective faces is made to S1>S3>S2>S4 and the second face of the first vessel is inserted to the central inside of the third face of the second vessel and fixed by connecting means 114 crossed orthogonally so as to equip equal openings in the circumferential edges of both the inserted first vessel and the second vessel receiving the same. A conical up cover 115 is set in the central position on the orthogonal connection means existing on the base of the first vessel.
