SHEET SURFACE-TREATING AGENT AND INK JET SYSTEM RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a surface-treating agent equipped with both the excellent water resistance of a primary amine group containing cationic polymer and the excellent printability of polyvinyl alcohol or starches and develop the surface-treating method thereof. SOLUTION: In an ink jet system recording medium, water-soluble or water- dispersible polymers having polyvinyl alcohol unit or sugar unit are coexisted. A sheet surface-treating agent including a grafted polymer manufactured by polymerizing monomers (or a mixture) respectively having a primary amino group containing acrylic monomer as an essential component is employed as the surfacetreating agent of the ink jet system recording medium for realizing the excellent water resistance and the excellent printability.
