PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the cooling time of casting, to prevent the unevenness of temperature in a metallic mold, to obtain a good cast product, to reduce the development of thermal stress and to extend the service life of the metallic mold by preventing the local heating in the metallic mold at the position where much heat is received, such as a hole as cast, like a nut hole for fastening an aluminum wheel. SOLUTION: The metallic mold for forming the aluminum wheel, has a cavity in the interval between the lower metallic mold having sprue hole and a gate part at the center part and the upper metallic mold arranged so as to be faced to the lower metallic mold. The lower metallic mold is vertically divided into two parts, i.e., a design mold faced to the cavity at the upper surface side and a backup mold arranged at the lower surface side of the design surface, and an annular cooling medium passage arranged so that the cooling medium can enter/leave the outer periphery of the gate part at the design mold side faced to the backup mold, are arranged. Further, the bottomed-hole bored toward the cavity surface side from the cooling medium passage side, and a copper rod of which one side is fitted and the other side comes out into the cooling medium passage, are arranged.
