PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an unsaturated polyester resin composition which gives cured products having excellent gloss retention and is useful for various uses as materials for covering such as coating materials, linings and gel-coating materials, and as an FRP molding material. SOLUTION: This unsaturated polyester resin composition comprises (A) an unsaturated polyester and (B) a polymerizable unsaturated monomer, and is characterized in that the [(A)/)(B)] weight ratio of (A) the unsaturated polyester to (B) the polymerizable unsaturated monomer is 70/30 to 95/5, and that the gloss retention (gloss retention after 2,000 hr in a weather resistance test using sunshine weatherometer based on the ISO standard) of the cured product of the composition is >=60%.
