PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method and a driving device of a motor-driven retractable mirror for preventing applying a large burden to a mechanical part and the occurrence of nonoperation at starting time. SOLUTION: 'Return' or 'retract' of this motor-driven retractable mirror is indicated by a mirror switch 26. A microcomputer 42 starts electric retracting motors 28 and 30 by driving voltage of 15 V by receiving this indication, and reduces the driving voltage to 12 V after starting, and makes the motor-driven retractable mirror reach an indicated position. The motor-driven retractable mirror is physically locked by a stopper when reaching the indicated position, and afterwards, current-carrying to the electric retracting motors 28 and 30 is stopped.
