PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing tool by which a readable check mark can be surely written by means of an image scanner in a document formed by applying a plurality of colors of letters and ruled lines. SOLUTION: The writing tool A by which a specified check mark 20 for recognizing a part to be corrected in a document 10 formed by applying a plurality of colors of the letters and the ruled lines is written is provided and an aqueous ink 2 with light absorbing wave length of 480-560 mμ is stored in a shaft cylinder and a pen point 3 with a writing line width of 0.8-2.5 mm is provided and the check mark 20 can be distinguished from other rules lines and letters in the document 10 and can be recognized thereby by means of the image scanner.
