SOLUTION: A CPU 75 selects a benefit pattern on the basis of respective count values of a big hit counter 77A, a ready-for-winning (reach) counter 77E, a time shortening-probability varying counter 77F, a special pattern selecting counter 77G, a benefit pattern selecting counter 77H and a miss pattern selecting counter 77I with every winning to respective starting holes 31 and 38 (S2), selects 'an ordinary big hit pattern' or 'a probability varying big it pattern'. (S4 to S10), and selects 'a miss pattern' in 'a ready-for-winning (reach) miss' and 'a miss' (S14). These 'ordinary big hit pattern ', 'probability varying big hit pattern' or 'miss pattern' and 'benifit pattern' are outputted to a display control circuit 95 via an output circuit 79 as a pattern variation starting command (S7, S12 and S14).
