Two way communication device, contains microphone picking up damped and non damped sound

Incoming sound (17) is directed to the microphone (12) via a channel (16) which does not dampen the sound and via a channel which dampens the sound. A two-way communication device comprises a casing (10) containing a loudspeaker (11) and a microphone. The casing is provided with at least two channels for sound entering the microphone, where one of these channels has a higher impedance towards sound than the other channel. One of these channels allows incoming sound to pass through to the microphone without damping, whilst another channel allows the sound to pass through with a given damping. The microphone is mounted in a holder (15) enabling it to pick up both non-damped and damped incoming sound. The channel for damped sound is formed by ensuring that sound waves can pass through the holder.
