PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the circulating water of a wet coating booth, for easily and economically performing the solid-liquid separation of the booth circulating water containing an uncoated paint in the wet coating booth using an aqueous paint, improving the quality of the recovered and reused booth circulating water, eliminating the closure of the related equipment and contributing to the enhancement of the whole operation efficiency of the coating apparatus and the maintenance of the apparatus. SOLUTION: A cationic flocculant is added to the circulating water of the wet coating booth using the aqueous paint to hold the charge quantity of the booth circulating water to -100-+1,000μeq/l [wherein -(minus) is anionic charge and +(plus) is cationic charge].
