PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stick-like vegetable cutting device and a method therefor that can produce vegetable chunks of the substantially same shape quickly and reliably from a stick-like vegetable. SOLUTION: A frame 1 is mounted with a rotary plate 2 rotatable by a drive means 7. The frame 1 has, over the rotary plate 2, a charging port 3 for supplying a stick-like vegetable b substantially from the rotation center position of the rotary plate 2. A holder 4 mounted on the rotary plate 2 has, under the charging port 3, a receiver 5 for supporting the point of the stick-like vegetable b. A cutting means 6 having a cutter 13 for cutting the stick-like vegetable b on the receiver 5 is arranged corresponding to the receiver 5.
