PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for removing dust from a web, by which foreign matter, dust, or the like, stuck on the like, stuck on the surface of the web can be removed without scratching or damaging the surface. SOLUTION: Firstly, high-pressure air with high cleaning capability is supplied to a traveling web-like film 10 and discharged from the film 10 by a dry dust collector 12 so that the foreign matter which is stuck on the surface and has comparatively weaker adhesive force can be removed. Next, the surface of the film 10 is continuously rubbed with an elastic body 18 wet with liquid so that the foreign matter which remains on the surface of the film 10 and has comparatively stronger adhesive force can be removed. Finally, liquid is jetted to the surface of the film 10 so that the foreign matter remaining on the surface of the film 10 can be cleaned away.
