PURPOSE:To obtain pleated fabric having visually soft feeling as fabric as well as hardness and sufficient strength and capable of standing by oneself, being foldable and stretchable and capable of housing in a compact state. CONSTITUTION:A thermosetting resin is applied onto the surface of fabric prepared from a thermosetting resin fiber and the resin-applied fabric is heat- treated and subjected to pleating treatment and further heat-treated to provide the objective foldable and stretchable pleated fabric body 13 composed of a thermally cured resin fiber fabric 1 and a thermosetting resin layer 7 on the surface of the fabric 1 and formed into plural hinge-like pleat parts 12. |
