PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of a conventional optical recording/reproducing device produced by technology heretofore, in which normal/defective condition is decided after assembling of an optical system and an actuator so that defective products are carried to a succeeding process, and in which assembling and writing of correcting information are performed after checking by a single actuator so that an external storage part is needed, making the structure of production facilities complicated. SOLUTION: The optical recording/reproducing device is such that, before a control substrate 2 is assembled in the actuator 7, various characteristics of the actuator single unit are measured, with information for correction stored in the storage part 17 mounted on a flexible substrate 3; that, normal/defective products are discriminated at this time, with the defectives prevented from being carried to a succeeding process if a defective actuator 7 is found; and that, with the start of the operation of the optical recording/reproducing device, information for correcting the variance of the characteristics is read out from the storage part 17, thereby carrying out the correction of the characteristical variance concerning each component unit.
