PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a password information initializing method which can safely and easily initialize a password information of a radio communication apparatus. SOLUTION: This password initializing method can initialize a password of a radio communication apparatus which utilizes, for communication through the public network, a subscriber information used for communication with the public network and a password information required for the predetermined processes. In this password initializing method, when the subscriber information is changed depending on the procedures predetermined in the public network under the condition that a control information indicating initialization of the password information is previously set and this control information is actually set, the password information is changed to the predetermined initial value.
