PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that conventionally a file sent from an electronic mail user (transmitter) cannot be decoded by another electronic mail user (receiver). SOLUTION: An electronic mail user (transmitter) 1, an electronic mail user (receiver) 2, and mail servers 3, 4, and 5 are connected to the Internet 7, the decode format of a mailer that the electronic mail user (receiver) is using is registered at a database(DB) 6 of the mail server 5 over the Internet, the electronic mail user (transmitter) inquires the decode format registered by the electronic mail user (transmitter) to the mail server 5, when transmitting an electronic mail, obtains the decode format, encodes the electronic mail in an encode format that can be decoded by the electronic mail user (receiver), and transmits it to the destination mail address of the electronic mail user (receiver) via the mail server 3. The electronic mail is read by the electronic mail user (receiver) which is stored in the mail server 4.
