<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for mounting a conductive ball in which a conductive ball under a state held by a suction head can be removed efficiently. SOLUTION: At the time of removing a conductive ball 6 held temporarily by a suction head 12 and collected without being mounted in an apparatus for mounting the conductive ball 6 while vacuum sucking by means of the suction head 12, an air channel (gap space a) of a specified gap (h) is formed between the lower surface of the suction head 12 and the upper surface 16d of a ball removing nozzle 16. An air flow is generated in the air channel by evacuating a suction pipe 16d and sucking air from an opening 16a, and the suction head 12 is moved horizontally relative to a first ball removing nozzle 16 thus removing the conductive balls 6 collected without being mounted by means of the air flow. According to the method, conductive balls can be removed surely and efficiently.</p> |
