PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method and control apparatus of frit-sealing stand in cathode-ray tube manufacturing, in which the frit-sealing stand used in a joining process of a panel part and a funnel part can be controlled surely and in which the occurrence of the failures of joint between the panel part and the funnel part can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The control apparatus includes a transfer line 10, bar code readers 21 and 22, a position-shift amount measuring apparatus 81, a stand discharging apparatus 41, and a sequence controller 25 which determines pass/ fail of a cathode-ray tube according to the measured position-shift amount, and when the cathode-ray tube is determined as being defective, for storing the stand number of the frit-sealing stand, on which the cathode-ray tube is held. When the stand number, read by the bar code reader 22 watches with the stand number of the defective frit-sealing stand, the frit-sealing stand 51 is discharged from the transfer line.
