PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric actuator which allows the manufacturing cost of the entire product to be reduced, without marring a fundamental struc ture for applying a pre-load compression in the expanding direction of a laminat ed piezoelectric element. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric actuator is structured as follows. Both end faces of a piezoelectric element 1 are sandwiched between a first and a second plate-like fixing members 7, 8, two wire springs 6 each have a locking beam 6a at one end, the other ends of the springs 6 pierce first specified two holes 7a formed into an outer peripheral portion of the first member 6a at its junction with the piezoelectric element 1 and second specified two holes 8a formed into the outer peripheral portion of the second member 8a at its junction with the piezoelectric element 1, the beams 6a are locked by the peripheries of the first holes 7a with a specified tensile load exerted on the wires 6a and their portions piercing the second holes 8a are fixed to apply a pre-load compression in the expanding direction agreeing with the extension of the piezoelectric element 1.
