PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip-type electronic component, having high performance of superior stability and reliability in electrical characteristics by providing high durability with respect to mechanical stresses such as bending, tension or the like or further a thermal stress and improving a deflection strength of an important evaluation item as the chip-type electronic component. SOLUTION: The chip-type electronic component comprises an effective layer of an electrostatic capacity acquiring layer, formed by alternately laminating BaTiO3-material layers 13 and internal electrodes 12a, 12b and 12c, each containing Ni, BaTiO3-material layers 13 laminated as non-effective layers on and beneath the effective layer as a laminate 11, and a plurality of Ni- material reinforcing layers 14 formed in the non-effective layer. In this component, the plurality of the Ni-material reinforcing layers 14 in the non-effective layers are disposed directly under the external electrode ends 17 provided on a side face of the component.
