PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader provided with constitution capable of preventing a floating original in the carrying route and preventing the jammed sheet originals as well at the time of preventing the floating regarding problems in the image reader provided with the carrying route for which the carrying route of the sheet original is V-shaped. SOLUTION: This image reader is provided with feed rollers 9 and 9' arranged on both sides across an original read part in the moving direction of the original S which is a read object and the carrying route of the original is V-shaped by positioning the feed rollers 9 and 9' above the original read part. Guide members 1J' and 1M' for guiding the original S to the original read part are provided between the feed rollers 9 and 9' and the read part of the original S in the carrying route of the original S and the guide members 1J' and 1M' are arranged movably while mounting the original S on an original platen arranged at the original read part.
