PURPOSE: A low-power source driver circuit is provided to improve a power efficiency by charging an image signal up to the voltage determined according to an image signal voltage. CONSTITUTION: A digital-to-analog convertor(610) converts image data into an analog signal, and a polarity modulator(620) provides a multi-step charging/discharging voltage for polarity modulation. An output buffer(630) receives the image signal from the digital-to-analog convertor, and is connected to the polarity modulator in a polarity modulation period for polarity modulation. At charging, when a charging voltage of the polarity modulator is higher than that of the image signal, it is saturated to an image signal level. When a charging voltage of the polarity modulator is lower than that of the image signal, it is saturated to an image signal. The output buffer transfers an output polarity modulated in the gray level period to a corresponding data line. A switch circuit(sw1a,sw1b,sw2a,sw2b) connects the polarity modulator to the output buffer in the polarity modulation period, and connects the output buffer to a power supply voltage in the gray level period.
