The swimming aid consists of a semi-rigid plate, e.g. of rubber or plastic, attached to the upper surface of the forearm (6) e.g by Velcro (RTM) fastenings (30, 31) and shaped to form two curved fins, one on each side of the forearm. The fins have convex upper surfaces (29)and are concave on the underside, with thicker, rounded front edges (35) projecting beyond the front fastenings. The rear end of the plate is recessed to permit free movement of the elbow.
