PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device and an optical device which each mount a substrate on a base through connecting materials and can mount the substrate on a conductive material without insulation failure. SOLUTION: A photodiode array 110 is mounted on a portion of a metal stem 101. A protrusion 102 is formed on this portion and a resulting step 103 of the protrusion 102 blocks an excessive solder paste 104 from running around to a side face of the photodiode array 110.
