<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real-time information receiving apparatus with which a transmission delay generated at the beginning of a communication can be restored during the communication. SOLUTION: A packet-receiving part 5 receives packets from a communication path 4 for storing in a fluctuation absorption buffer 6. A decoding part 7 receives the packets from the buffer 6 to be decoded, and it transfers data to an output part 8. A number-of-packets determining means 9 measures the number of the packets stored inside the buffer 6, determines whether the number exceeds a predetermined threshold, and when the number exceeds the threshold, it transmits the effect to a data-discarding means 10. The means 10 dumps a part or the whole of the packets inside the buffer 6, when it is informed from the memory 9 that the number of the stored packets in the buffer 6 exceeds the threshold. Units for discarding may be packet unit or a byte unit.</p> |
