PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize more energy conservation than the conventional image forming devices. SOLUTION: Normally, a main power supply 12 supplies power to the main circuit 11 through a switch circuit 15. In an energy saving mode, the main power supply is turned off and a solar battery 14 supplies a minimum required power to the main circuit 11 through the switch circuit 15 while storing power in a secondary battery 13. When the voltage from the solar battery 14 drops lower than prescribed in the energy saving mode, the CPU 28 issues a command to turn on the main power supply 12. |
