SOLUTION: An image pickup device comprises an image pickup means to photograph an object and then to generate image signals having an arbitrary number of pixels H pixels × W pixels less than a prescribed number of P pixels × Q pixels in the vertical and horizontal directions, an enlargement means to perform enlargement processing to the image signals generated by the image pickup means and then to generate the enlarged image signals of the P pixels × Q pixels and a reduction means to perform reduction processing to the enlarged image signals of P pixels × Q pixels obtained enlargement means and then to take the reduced image signals having a prescribed number of pixels M pixels × N pixels.
