PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately practice management data communication by a method where management data are transmitted only by an apparatus monitoring device for the data communication between the apparatus monitoring device and an apparatus in a management center. SOLUTION: An apparatus monitoring device 11 is connected to a telephone line 1 drawn into a slave station in parallel with a telephone 15. Only the apparatus-monitoring device 11, which monitors installed apparatuses according to management data for apparatuses installed in the slave station, conducts transmission for connecting to the telephone line 1 from the management center 21 of a master station, to conduct the data communication for management of apparatuses installed in the slave station. With such an arrangement, all the monitoring functions can be realized.
