PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication method realizing smooth data communication, without increasing the transmission delay, even when a large number of communication units are connected on the same transmission path. SOLUTION: The communication method comprises a first step, where a slave unit is turned on to transmit a link establishment request frame, describing a code indicative of a link establishment request, a group code to which it belongs, and an address for specifying itself, a second step where a master unit in the group transmits a link establishment response frame describing a code indicating a link establishment request, a group code, and a code indicative of a signal transmission path being used for data communication with the master unit, in response to the link establishment request frame, and a third step for configuring a specific signal transmission path with the master unit.
