PURPOSE: A method of applying a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) in a mobile communication system is provided to output an inherent melody and an image of an external site where data is pushed, when a WAP PUSH service is transmitted to a terminal, so that a subscriber can easily know in which site the data is pushed with interests. CONSTITUTION: If a PUSH event is generated in an external site, the external site transmits the event to a PUSH server(ST11). The PUSH server receiving PUSH information from the external site inserts an inherent melody and an image of the corresponding site to SMS(Short Message Service) user data, and compresses URL and binary data to transmit the compressed URL and the binary data to an SMS center(ST12). If the SMS center transmits the received data to a subscriber terminal, the melody and the URL are displayed in the subscriber terminal. If a user wants to connect to the corresponding site, a WAP gateway is requested a URL connection(ST13-ST15). The WAP gateway sets a path for the site connection, and receives requested data(ST16-ST18). |
