PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill reception processing machine which has a simple constitution, having no temporary hold part and can rationally cancel a transaction where bills have already been sent to a storage part. SOLUTION: This machine is not constituted with a temporary hold part, which temporarily puts bills away from stackers when the bills by reception transactions are stored in the stackers by the denominations. The machine is provided with: a trouble detecting means which detects trouble occurring during 2nd and succeeding reception transactions except an initial reception transaction; a notification means which gives notice of the detection of the trouble by the detecting means; and a trouble recovery processing part which store bills in the stackers by the denomination for the total of the corresponding reception transaction and reception transactions, before the corresponding reception transaction having their reception processing determined by remounting the bills on a hopper, if the notification means detects the trouble and also sorts data on the reception amount, etc., of the corresponding reception transaction and data on the reception amount, etc., of the transactions, related to before the corresponding reception transaction.
