PURPOSE: Provided are a glass which is used in composition useful to form a rib in PDP containing no PbO and/or alkali metal oxide, and a dielectric composition comprising the glass. CONSTITUTION: The glass necessarily comprises 5-40 mol% of BaO, 20-55 mol% of ZnO, 15-50 mol% of B2O3, and 0-25 mol% of SiO2. The glass has a softening point of below 630 deg.C. The glass does not contain PbO and alkali metal oxide. The dielectric composition comprises powdery material necessarily containing 50-95 mol% of glass powder and 5-50 mol% of ceramic filler powder. The composition further comprises binder, plasticizer and solvent in order to form a paste. The paste comprises 30-90 wt.% of powder material, 0.1-20 wt.% of binder, 0-10 wt.% of plasticizer, and 10-30 wt.% of solvent. The binder is one selected from the group consisting of polybutyl methacrylate, polyvinyl butyral, polymethyl methacrylate, polyethyl methacrylate and ethyl cellulose.
