PURPOSE: An image display device housing manufactured by a film insertion type injection method is provided to provide an image display device housing of various colors and designs. CONSTITUTION: A method for molding an image display device housing includes the steps of preparing a core side mold part having a film guide part, a film attaching and detaching part and an air sealing part and a cavity side mold part having a gate nozzle and a cavity, preparing a positioning guide hole(3-2) corresponding to the film guide part and preliminarily molding a film(3) having a prescribed pattern and color, arranging the film on the core side mold part, firmly seating the film arranged on the core side mold part using the film attaching and detaching part, joining the core side mold part and the cavity side mold part, injecting plastic resin of a transparent image display device housing(1) into the joined mold parts through the gate nozzle, and separating the image display device housing in which the film is inserted after hardening the plastic resin.
