IMPORTANT CALL CONTROL SYSTEM IN ATM SWITCHING NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an important call control system in an ATM switching network capable of realizing a stable network system by changing a bypass system and suppressing the disconnections of important calls between END terminals as much as possible. SOLUTION: ATM switching devices 1-6 identify the important call at the time of a call connection request and give it priority over a general call until call setting completion. After the call setting completion, the ATM switching devices 1-6 perform monitoring by fault notification by OAM cells. The ATM switching devices 1-6 perform classification into the faults of three stages from fault duration, respectively define the restoration method of the call, perform it between a fault detection station and a terminating terminal housing station at the time of bypassing and thus, relieves the call between the END terminals.
