PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control algorithm which instantaneously detects the position of the magnetic pole within a motor, including its polarity. SOLUTION: This drive system gives a feeble change to the voltage command on the dc axis which is the predicted magnetic pole axis of a motor 3 and consequently discriminates the polarity of the magnetic pole axis, utilizing the difference between the periods, when the current pulsation components become positive and the period, when they become negative, or the difference in the rate of current change between the positive side and the negative side. Moreover, this adds feeble changes to the command to both of the dc axis and the qc axis orthogonal to it, and directly predicts the position of the magnetic pole of the motor from the pulsation components of the current on each axis. There is no need to separately provide the period for discriminating the polarity of the magnetic pole, and this can shorten the period from power-on to start-up and can realize high-speed start of the motor, and can realize high- speed prediction of the magnetic pole position. |
