PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-blast circuit breaker which enables obtaining of proper characteristics for breaking, using small driving energy. SOLUTION: A movable contact part 20 is provided in a sealed container, filled with an arc-extinguishing gas. The movable contact part 20 comprises a fixed contact part 10 comprising a fixed arc contact 11 and a fixed conducting contact 12, operating rod 21, flange 22, puffer cylinder 23, movable arc contact 24, movable conducting contact 25, insulating nozzle 26, and fixed piston 27. An attached part 40, comprising an organic polymeric compound emitting hydrocarbon-based gas through ablation, is provided so as to be brought into contact with the flange 22 and the puffer cylinder 23 in a pressure-storing space S1.
